Josh Brolin is reminding fans that the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes still have to face Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. The Mad Titan won his first bout against the Avengers in Avengers: Infinity War, but they’re determined to make sure that the villain will pay for wiping out half of life in the universe - including some of their comrades.

Less than three months before MCU wraps up its 22-film arc that started in 2008’s Iron Man, fans can no longer contain their excitement for the imminent re-assembly of the original six Avengers after operating separately for a few years now. Marvel Studios has been mum about specific plot details about Endgame by rolling out a trailer that barely gave anything away. However, things changed over the weekend with the release of a brand new TV spot during the Super Bowl that offered fans more context as to what to expect in the flick. However, there was one thing noticeably missing in the clip - Thanos.

In light of this, Brolin took it to his official Instagram account to share the said spot and reminded fans that while it’s exciting to get the superheroes back together, they still have to face the Mad Titan in order to win. Thanos was also barely in the first trailer for Endgame, but the film’s Super Bowl spot didn’t feature him at all, and instead focused on the heroes and what they’re up to on the heels of The Decimation. Check out the actor’s post below:

Fans know from the end of Infinity War, as well as the first trailer for Endgame, that Thanos has retired on an unknown planet that the filmmakers simply call Titan 2. This specific arc mines inspiration from the comic books where the Mad Titan also retired to be a farmer not wanting to be bothered. But with the Avengers plotting their next move in the hopes of restoring peace and order in the universe, on top of taking Thanos down once and for all, it’s safe to say the Mad Titan’s peaceful time in retirement won’t last for very long. That said, considering that much of the screen time for Infinity War was devoted to Thanos, it’s safe to say that Endgame will focus more on the heroes and how they act following their defeat.

There have been rumors claiming that there’s a bigger threat in Avengers 4 aside from Thanos. Assuming that this is the case, it’s interesting who that villain could be and what his debut would mean with regard to the Mad Titan’s role in the flick. Admittedly, it’ll be odd for the film to suddenly introduce a big-name antagonist from the comic books considering that Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame revolve around the Thanos and his quest for the Infinity Stones. Fans would just have to wait and see what lies ahead for both the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the Mad Titan once the Phase 3 capper hits theaters in April.
