Margot Robbie spoke on behalf of Brad Pitt and poked fun at “Megxit” at the BAFTA awards upon winning his supporting actor award and Prince William and Duchess Kate it got awkward when fans see Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton in the star-studded audience.

The royals are currently going through a transitional phase, following some not-so-private personal matters surfacing in the public eye. As the future King of England, Prince William has been bred from a young age to keep a stiff upper lip when it comes to his personal or public business. Since his brother has decided to step aside from the royal family, the future king has had more responsibility on his plate. His wife, Kate Middleton is beloved by the British people and will make a suitable Queen when the time comes. Both Prince William and Kate seemed to have a lovely time attending the award show as they dressed to the nines.

It is always nice to see the future King and Queen of England get out of their palace and attend an awards show. The BAFTA awards represent the best national and foreign films throughout the year and are held at the Royal Albert Hall. Both Prince William and Middleton adorned their public smiles when it came time to some good old fashion ribbing but also held a stern face when the time called according to The Daily Beast. Brad Pitt lobbed a humorous take on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry while simultaneously being was almost 5,000 miles away in America. The actor was not able to accept his BAFTA award for his acting in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and asked that Margot Robbie read a speech on his behalf. The lighthearted speech began: “Hey Britain. I heard you just became single. Welcome to the club. Wishing you the best with the divorce settlement now blah blah blah.” While Pitt caused laughter throughout the theater with his Brexit jab, he also made sure to thank the Academy for the honor, the full clip can be seen below:

Then the Australian actress picked up the heavy bronze award and said on Pitt’s behalf, “Oh and he says that he is going to name this Harry because he is really excited about bringing it back to the states with him.” The direct reference to the royal family’s black sheep caused laughter throughout the room while Margot added, “His words, not mine!” The camera then cut to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who was laughing about the joke and clapped with the audience. However, the royal couple was not impressed by actress, Rebel Wilson when she brought up Prince Andrew. The 39-year-old Australian actress caused audile gasps when she introduced the award for Best Director by pretending to be flustered and disorientated as she mentioned Prince Andrew. The prince had been linked to Jeffrey Epstein and currently is being accused of trafficking a young girl to have sex with him.

Prince William did use his time during his opening speech to voice his concerns about the fact that there was a lack of diversity within the award winners and the shortlist for best directors; all the directors were male while all the actors who were nominated were white. The royal told the audience that they were lucky to have men and women from all different backgrounds who enrich their lives through film, with many more needing to be acknowledged.
